The Property
Purchased in 2002, Honea Vineyards consists of
40 acres on Alamo Pintado Road, the major wine country road running
between the wine center town of Los Olivos and the Danish town of
Solvang.
The acreage is divided between limestone hillsides
and gravelly alluvial flatlands with three prominent hills (Tre
Colline) leading up from the flat land along Alamo Pintado creek.
Twenty acres have been planted in grapes and two in olive trees.
The acreage that is not planted in vines is occupied by creek beds,
wildflowers, gardens, fruit trees and over 100 majestic oak trees.

Several picnic sites are strategically located throughout
the property, and a farm house and guest house lie at the foot of the
first hill. Behind the hill lies a valley which holds a new barn, with
plans underway for a winery. Visitors to Honea Vineyards can appreciate
the beauty of the location by trekking to the top of the largest hill.
From the hilltop pergola, one can enjoy a panoramic view of the entire
valley stretching between the San Rafael and Santa Ynez mountain ranges.
